From the time I started applique, it became apparent that the beautiful fabrics I found in the quilt stores were just not enough for me and the easiest way to experiment was to begin dying fabric. There is a long story that goes with this but sufice to say it involved an innocent suggestion by a friend to replace some flowers on one of my quilts with better quality fabrics and well..... I have not stopped creating custom fabrics since then!
     So, for over 20 years I have been dying silks, sateen, silk velvet, silk ribbon and just about any other fiber I can and hope you will enjoy incorporating them into your projects as well!
