Inspiring my Heart Page 1

Each year while Applique Academy was held in Lewis Delaware, my friends and I made a side trip, by ferry, to Cape May, New Jersey. The Victorian homes are just beautiful and covered with all that ornamental gingerbread. It was inevitable that I would design a quilt that incorporated those incredible gingerbread motifs.
This wallhanging measures 47" square, has a cutwork heart in the center that is open for your own inking. The wreath is modeled after a traditional Baltimore style with the triple bow knot but is full of dimensional applique including silk roses and silk ribbon flowers.
Mary Anne modeled her color choices after a popular "bed and breakfast", Angel of the Sea. In fact, Mary Anne apparently had so much fun, she made this wall hanging twice in the time I haven't even finished the original!
